Fall Wrap Up
November 19, 2014
With the cold air upon, we are gearing up for the holiday season! We had a great Fall thanks to all of y'all and we appreciate the wonderful business that we have received this year.
Though the Fall is wrapping up we have still been in full swing! This last weekend we set up for all of the festivals in downtown Savannah!
The Food and Wine Festival (November 10-16) was a huge success! Whoever decided to dedicate a whole week to food and wine was a genious and we appreciate them!
(This is a fabulous shot from the Visit Savannah Facebook page)
The 20th annual Telfair Art Fair also took place this last weekend. A sea of prints from drawings to pastel paintings filled downtown Savannah where art enthusiats gathered to buy and sell paintings, sculptures, photographs, textiles and so much more.
The Live Oak Public Libraries hosted the Book Fair this weekend in Forsyth Park. A great family fun event, children got to meet some of their favorite book characters! The Book Fair is a great way to get more children interested in reading and learning!
In the last couple of weeks we have also done some amazing weddings in the Savannah and Hilton Head area.
And our Augusta store just finished up another fabulous Steeplechase!
We have had a wonderful season and we are so excited about getting into the winter season! We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We sure do have a lot to be thankful for!

Oh man, what a month it has been! Fall kicked off in the busiest way possible and our team is really pushing through!
JLK Events is an amazing lighting company right here in the low country. Their work is flawless and we love being able to work with them so often! The first picture shown is a beautiful tent we did in the Hilton Head area with JLK's amazing lighting skills.
This wonderful picture by JLK was at the Ford Plantation Homecoming. How awesome do these lighted tables look under our beautiful tent?!
JLK, thank you so much for helping us so often and making our tents look absolutely amazing!
This past weekend we participated in Tybee Island's annual Pirate Festival! What a blast?! Our guys slaved away for about a week out in the heat on Tybee to make sure everything came together for this awesome weekend! SeaBar, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of this great festival again this year! We look forward to working with you guys again next year!
We have also been a part of quite a few wedding this month. Posh, Petals and Pearls is made up of an awesome team of women who we have the great pleasure of working with very often!
This awesome tent was set up out at The Westin for Kate and Sheldon's big day! We were lucky to be a part of such a beautiful event and we wish you many years of happiness!
Bonnie Kaar and her team at First City Events also puts on fabulous events! An outdoor wedding is always wonderfull in the fall, especially at The Davenport House! Bonnie, thanks for letting us be a part of your couple's big days so often!
We have also been featured in Borrowed and Blue and Unveiled Magazine. Make sure you check us and some other amazing vendors out in both publications!
Fall Kick Off
September 4, 2014
As another busy week comes to an end, we would like to reminisce on our last couple of weeks.
Nicole from Ranco South kicked off Fall event season at the LGBT Wedding Expo sponsored by GaySavannah.com. This ground breaking event was held at The Mansion at Forsyth on August 24, and was quite a historical event, to say the least. Though an intimate setting, Nicole said it was a “party- like” atmosphere, a far fetch from the corporate-esque expos that many vendors are accustomed to.
With an eclectic group of vendors, the expo opened and history was being made. With a spectacular spread of food, including scrumptious crab cakes from Southside Shellfish Inc., all of the vendors and visitors were well fed.
We were so honored to be a part of the very first LGBT show in Savannah and we look forward to many more.
How cool is this Bleeding Armadillo cake from Joe’s Homemade Café?
Then we headed on over to Hutchinson Island for the Savannah Craft Brew Fest on August 30. For 7 years we have been a part of this awesome event showcasing the craft breweries here in the south. One of my favorite events of the whole year, the Craft Brew Fest crew definitely brought their A game this year. They included different areas such as an import garden, a cider garden, a mixology garden, food and a cornhole tournament. Is there a better way to spend Labor Day weekend than drinking a bunch of crafty beer?
Actually, there is another great way: the annual Tybee Island Labor Day Beach Bash! This event is a blast for the whole family. After spending your weekend on the beach, we hope you stuck around on Sunday night for the awesome live bands that played in the huge parking lot of Tybee.
Lastly, we celebrated Avigale and Andrew on their big day out at Old Fort Jackson. This wedding was nothing short of fabulous with a ferry boat ride to the reception where guests walked into a southern wonderland. Bonnie at First City Events is such a delight to work with! And Ooh! Events really made Old Fort Jackson look amazing! We were so honored that they allowed us to be a part of their big day and we wish them hundreds of years of happiness!
As you can tell we have had a great start to the event season! We look forward to the rest of the fall and hope that you all stay tuned for everything we have in store!

Oh sweet Savannah, where the Spanish moss hangs softly from the large live oak trees that cover the Savannah streets, keeping the hot southern sun from beating down on you. Savannah has become one of the most appealing destinations for weddings and events in the country. Savannah’s sweet southern charm has been attracting the attention of brides, event coordinators, and officials all in the same for decades, which is where we come in.
Ranco, short for Randy’s Company, has been locally owned and operated in the Savannah area for almost 9 years. Randy Childs, CEO of Ranco, has been in the business for about three decades, so he has been around the block a time or two. With the original location, Savannah Special Events in the downtown area, Randy was able to burst into the event rental business strong in Savannah. Eventually, Savannah Special Events by Ranco expanded into the south side of Savannah, making us more accessible to the public for your rental needs. Both locations are fully functional and both have stunning showrooms for you to see most of our products.
My name is Ashley, part of The Savannah Special Events and Ranco South team. Also an event coordinator, events and weddings have taken over my life and I would have it no other way. From weddings to birthday parties, corporate events to back yard BBQ’s, I am here to tell you about the amazing events we are so lucky to be a part of.
We are getting an early start to the Fall event season, kicking off with Savannah Brew Fest and quite a few weddings. We are so lucky to have wonderful event coordinators and vendors to help us put on these special days.
Savannah Special Events and Ranco South are both accessible on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Pop on over and see what we are up to!
